MASCHALINA jewelry is produced regionally and inclusively
From the very beginning, it was important to us to have our jewelry produced regionally , in contrast to large jewelry companies. That is why we have been cooperating with various social workshops in Austria from the very beginning. This not only enables us to maintain personal and warm-hearted contact with our seamstresses and the production facilities, but also to support social groups that have a hard time on the labor market. We are currently cooperating with four social workshops in Vienna, which carefully handcraft our jewelry for us. Regional production and inclusion of minorities in the labor market correspond to our ideas of responsible production.
What makes jewelry sustainable?
Slow fashion instead of fast fashion!
Sustainability can mean many things. Our MASCHALINA statement jewelry is precisely hand-sewn from the highest quality, long-lasting materials. Semi-precious stones such as agate, rose quartz and amethyst, freshwater pearls and Swarovski pearls are processed into earrings, rings, bracelets etc. using a special sewing technique. For the majority of our studs and clasps, we use allergy-friendly titanium and rarely 14K gold-plated brass or nickel-free stainless steel. Because we attach great importance to also offering earrings for sensitive ears and want to avoid reactions caused by a nickel allergy, for example, all metal jewelry parts are tested again for nickel in our Vienna studio. This allows us to offer highly compatible pieces of jewelry with a clear conscience. Overall, we would like to offer you a selection of different, timelessly designed pieces of jewelry. You can discover your favorite piece of jewellery and fall in love with it. Our motivation is to produce luxurious and high-quality jewelry that will be worn by you for a long time and will delight you again and again. We are also proud of our repair service, which will bring your favorite piece back to life even after years. We offer second-hand products at greatly reduced prices in regular sales, so that even pieces of jewelry with minor defects find a happy owner and no goods have to be destroyed or disposed of. In our online store, we offer environmentally friendly packaging for your parcel. If you live in Vienna, you can also simply collect your online order from our office.

Empowering women* is particularly important to us! Through charity events, we support organizations that fight violence against women and offer protection to victims. In addition, the jewelry company MASCHALINA was founded by the designer Mascha Lina Borodin, who is passionate about strengthening the self-confidence of young women. The entire team is made up of very special personalities who identify as women. With MASCHALINA statement jewelry, we want to emphasize the uniqueness of every woman* individually!
Responsible action never stops
MASCHALINA jewelry is handmade in Austria. Acting responsibly means a lot to us. Nevertheless, we are aware that there are many other areas in which we can be even more sustainable, environmentally friendly and responsible. We are not perfect, but we are working on making more and more areas of our jewelry label more responsible.
