Nachhaltig produzierte MASCHALINA Ohrringe kaufen und Korallenriffe schützen

Buy sustainably produced MASCHALINA earrings and protect coral reefs

You want to buy responsibly produced earrings for yourself or as a gift and at the same time do something good for the environment and other people? As an Austrian jewellery company, our high-quality jewellery is not only hand-sewn under fair working conditions in Viennese workshops, it is also important to us to set a sign of solidarity through charity campaigns. That's why we have already supported the Linz Women's Shelter to combat violence against women, Pink Ribbon for the fight against breast cancer, and the UNHCR refugee organisation with several jewellery charity sales. Jewellery designer Mascha Lina Borodin has taken her inspiration from the new MASCHALINA ST. BARTHS COLLECTION inspired by the breathtakingly beautiful Caribbean coral world. That's why we have come up with a new charity jewellery campaign in which you can help protect coral reefs by buying jewellery in our online shop. Because corals are threatened with extinction due to the consequences of global warming. We are offering three limited edition jewellery sets consisting of colourful earrings and a bracelet from the new collection at a special price. Until the end of September, we will donate 5% of the net sales of this charity jewellery set to the aid organisation CORAL REEF ALLIANCE. CORAL REEF ALLIANCE works with marine biologists and local specialists to keep corals healthy and protect them from extinction. We want future generations to be inspired by the magical beauty of colourful coral reefs. In addition, there are several environmental reasons why corals should be preserved at all costs. That's why we're now giving you a little fact check on the topic of "corals and global warming".

WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO PROTECT CORAL REEFS?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations (UN) summarises the latest research on the climate crisis in its peer-reviewed reports. For example, in the first part of the sixth Assessment Report 2021, selected top international scientists explained in detail the current state of scientific knowledge on climate change and its consequences. In this report, the differences between 1.5°C and 2°C global warming are compared. This is because at the 2015 World Climate Conference, the Paris Agreement - the international treaty to mitigate climate change - set the goal of keeping the global climate at a warming of 1.5°C or at least staying below 2°C. The difference between 1.5°C and 2°C already shows drastic consequences such as destroyed ecosystems, species extinction, increasing number of drastic environmental disasters, food shortages and much more. At 1.5°C, scientists have predicted that 90% of all coral reefs will become extinct. At 2°C, it will be 99%. Why is the extinction of coral reefs so problematic? Coral reefs are not only breathtakingly beautiful, they can also be called forests of the sea. Corals provide a habitat for many sea creatures and can bind a lot of CO2 - one of the emissions that contributes significantly to global warming. Corals are therefore important organisms for keeping the world's climate stable. Their extinction only accelerates global warming. With current global emissions, the world is heading for a global warming of 3.2°C by 2100. What a warming of 3.2°C means for the global living situation of earthlings of all species is unimaginable. That is why we must act now!

WITH AN EARRING PURCHASE YOU CAN SUPPORT THE NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION CORAL REEF ALLIANCE

CORAL REEF ALLIANCE is a non-profit organisation (NGO) where scientists work with locals to develop scalable and effective solutions for the conservation, care and protection of corals. Their research focuses on the adaptation of coral reefs to a warming climate in cooperation with local experts, marine biologists and an international network of specialists - and postulates that corals can adapt with the right care.

To support the research and implementation of the NGO CORAL REEF ALLIANCE, we will donate 5% of the net sales of the three MASCHALINA CHARITY JEWELLERY SETS to the organisation until the end of September. We would like to keep you informed about how much money is collected for the CORAL REEF ALLIANCE and have created the following transparency table. In this table you can find your invoice number and follow the charity campaign publicly. At the end of each month we donate the collected amount to the NGO.

You love the feather-light, summery and colourful MASCHALINA earrings and want to do something good at the same time? By buying the Charity Jewellery Set online, you are not only supporting responsible Austrian production, but also breathtakingly beautiful coral reefs that we and future generations will hopefully all still be able to admire!
